Machine-cut text passages cut into plywood come together with other elements of the work. The passages consist of text messages collected from teenagers, routed using a digital outline. Big chunks of text, however, are missing, individual words can be intercepted, but have no meaning out of context.
White Aluminium composite panel are cut out in the form of letters, these letters can be identified as the negative space left behind from the shapes cut out of Backup Boards. They are placed on coloured surfaces on the wall. There is a tension between the surface and space; between the individual letter’s fixed meaning and and more open interpretations.
