To the End of the World exists in two versions that are identical in form, but with different expressions; one work comprised of 28 parts, and 28 individual works. As a whole, the work appears as a type of map made out of wood veneer boards processed in various ways: broken, milled, sawn, sanded and plunged in varnish and paint. Thus, the work consists of a series of individual actions, connected in one collective composition, thereby giving the work a sense of being in a continual state of becoming. This is also implied in the title, where the interrelation – allegorically as well as formally – between motive and surface, between sculpture and painting, and between the artistic processing and the will of the material can be (re)negotiated ‘to the end of the world’.

To the End of the World findes i to versioner der er formmæssigt ens, men med forskellige udtryk; ét samlet værk bestående af 28 dele, og 28 autonome værker. Samlet fremstår værket som et slags landkort af træfinérplader, der er bearbejdet på diverse måder: brækket, fræset, savet, slebet og overhældt med lak og maling. Værket udgøres så at sige af en række selvstændige handlinger, der samtidig forbinder sig med hinanden i en samlet komposition og derved giver værket en karakter af at være i en slags konstant tilblivelsestilstand. Dette forhold antydes samtidig i titlen, hvor relationen – billedligt såvel som formelt – mellem motiv og flade, mellem skulptur og maleri, mellem kunstnerens bearbejdning og materialets egne veje, synes at kunne (gen)forhandles ‘to the end of the world.’
